Hot and Cold, Melting

Today we had a look at what happens to very cold things when you heat them up.
We found out that the ice-cream and the ice cube that were in the freezer melted when we left them out of the freezer.

The butter and the chocolate did not melt when we left them on the table, so we put them on the radiator.

The butter melted first. The chocolate didn't seem to melt but was really soft when teacher touched it.

Now we understand why some things have to be kept in the freezer, some things in the fridge, and some things in a cool place in the room.
