Seeing how flowers drink in Junior Infants

We went for a walk and we pick 4 lovely daffodils in the park.
We put these daffodils in 4 different jars with water in them. In the first one we put in two drops of green food dye, in the second one we put in two drops of red food dye, in the third we put in two drops of blue food dye and in the last we left it clear.

We left them a few days and observed what happened.....

The red and blue food dye were more obvious than the green dye, they drank the water and turned the petals on the daffodils red and a greeny blue colour. The clear water didn't change the colour of the daffodil.
