Horse chestnut buds

We went on another nature walk the other day to see if the buds on the horse-chestnut tree, beside our school had come out. We were in luck and caught it just at the right time!!

Blackbirds Nest

Ms. Lally brought in a blackbird's nest for us all to see.

We were absolutely amazed that birds (with no hands or arms) could make something so strong and perfect.

There were no eggs in this nest.  It is one that the blackbird no longer uses.

Spring is here and it is a wonderful time of year. All the animals are waking up, the buds are on the trees and the flowers are beginning to grow. We went for a nature walk today and we saw buds, birds building their nests, daffodils, daisies, blue bells. Everywhere is looking bright and cheerful. We like Spring.....
