Space data: Senior Infants
We have learned a lot about all the different planets. Today we had to choose our favourite one, and give the reason why we liked our one the best. We had our eyes closed while our friends were choosing, so it was very interesting to see how our chart looked in the end. Mrs. Newell's class also joined in and chose their favourite planets too.
A huge rainbow: Senior Infants
We saw a magnificant rainbow in the sky today. It was over our school. In fact, it was a double rainbow: the brighter rainbow had the colours in the right order red orange yellow green blue indigo and violet. The duller rainbow was bigger and outside the brighter one. This rainbow had the colours in the opposite order: violet indigo blue green yellow orange and red. We loved looking at these rainbows.
Materials: Junior Infants
We talked about materials and their characteristics . We felt a variety of materials and grouped them according to how they felt. We felt rough , smooth, shiny and soft materials. Then we made a collage with all the materials. They all look different and are very colourful.

Is it waterproof? Senior Infants
With all the rain recently, we decided it was important to find out which things are waterproof and which are not.First ,the children guessed whether a sock,a plastic bag,a rubber glove and some paper were waterproof or not .Then we experimented by putting each item into a container of water.Last,we recorded our results and compared them to our guesses. We agreed it would not be a good idea to go out in paper clothes in the pouring rain!

Fun with magnets: Junior Infants
This week we had great fun investigating with magnets. We investigated around the classroom. We each had a magnet and we tried to see what objects our magnets would stick to. The magnet was attracted to objects like the metal part of the desks and chairs, the white board, the door handle, the radiator, teacher's keys, the filing cabinet. The magnets did not stick to the wall, windows, fish tank or books. We really like magnets. They come in all different shapes and sizes. We also used the magnets to drive some cars and make them go forwards and backwards....
