September 24th, 2007, Room 5 and Room 4
We made a lung out of a cut bottle, a coke bottle and a balloon. When we squeezed the coke bottle, the balloon breathed (it got bigger), just like a real lung!

We tried using a tube to blow all the air out of a bottle that was full with water. The air that was in my lungs got blown out and into the bottle of water. The air that ends up in the bottle shows just how much air was in my lungs. Bigger lungs can blow more air into the bottle than smaller lungs.

We tasted things that are bitter (natural yoghurt), salty (popcorn), sour (lemon) and sweet (jelly snakes)
We put dots of colour on the tissue, and then put the tissue into water. The tissue soaked up the water and the colours got soaked up too.
We could see how different colours are made -
We need sunshine (bright light) to make shadows and rainbows. On Friday, September 7th the weather was lovely and sunny so our Senior Infants went outside to make shadows. It was fun.
