Little green fingers: First class
We've been busy planting seeds over the past few weeks! So far we have planted sunflowers, tomatoes, basil, cress and are growing them inside and outside our classroom. We have to make sure that they are watered and get sunlight as much as possible. Soon we will be transferring them into larger pots with new, fresh soil! We love watching them grow! Kay the gardener also helped us grow some yummy fruit and vegetables in our garden patch outside! We are hoping to make our very own salad bowls by the end of the year for lunch - DELICIOUS!!!
Baboro beast project
We are lucky enough to be involved in the Baboro Beast project!Scientists and an artist are going to be working with us on seaweed and the beach. We collected seaweed at the beach one day. Then three scientist brought us in more seaweed and we had to sort it into green, red and brown. Then we guessed which might produce the most gas. After that we experimented and chopped up the different kinds of seaweed and let them ferment with sugar ,yeast and water.Whichever bottle had a balloon with lots of air in it contained seaweed with lots of gas.We loved it!
